Milberry Green Meadows Crafts: Dried Flower Easter Eggs

Updated: Apr 13, 2023

This simple craft is great for all the family and makes a pretty centre-piece. (As usual, I have included links to Amazon, and we receive a small commission if you buy anything from these.)

Start by assembling your supplies. You will need:

  • dried flowers - I dried my own, which takes about a week, but if you don't have time to do this, buy pre-pressed flowers like these.

  • something to press your flowers in. I used a combination of bull dog clips, card and newspaper, but a heavy book will do

  • Mod Podge - I used satin but matte would work fine too

  • brush to apply Mod Podge

  • half a dozen hard-boiled eggs

Your first job is to collect your flowers, if you are not buying pre-pressed ones. It being early April when I was collecting, there weren't many options, but I managed to collect a pretty bowlful.

Arrange your flowers on newspaper and press them between the pages of a heavy book. I already had a piece of A4 plastic and card and some bull dog clips so I pressed my flowers using that. Now wait a week before the next step!

Hard boil six eggs (boil for at least 6 minutes).

Take your pressed flowers out of the newspaper.

Now paint a boiled egg all over with Mod Podge.

Next, place your flowers on the egg and paint over with Mod Podge. Don't worry, it will clear as it dries. Voila!
